A Sugar Obituary

Sugar Mia Pleeze, also known as delicious, passed away over the weekend after battling with the testing devices of Mt. Timanogas woman's health care. She was young and beautiful. She was currently living in Saratoga Springs Utah, but had traveled, accompanied by her family, to many lands.

Sugar was born in Mesa Arizona to Dr. Noah Sugar Pleeze and Mrs. Hidin' Sugar Pleeze. After residing in Arizona for nearly 18 years, Sugar was adopted by Luv Mia Sugar Pleeze and moved to Utah. Her family continued to expand over the years. She is survived by her parents, two brothers and a sister.

Donations for her funeral services can be donated to the "Further research on Gestational Diabetes to find a CURE" fund.

Or cash can be sent to her mama--Luv Mia Sugar!!!

That's right folks, I've got it! Gestational Diabetes!! 54 more day to go on my no-sugar diet and it is nearly killing ME! I get to start poking myself with a needle a few times a day starting tomorrow. Yea! I feel bad for anyone out there that has diabetes and has lived with it their entire lives. I had a couple friends who had it growing up and I didn't really realize what a pain or how hard it can be. Most women don't have it after giving birth--like immediately. So, I'm hoping I get to be in the most category. I will have a 35% chance of having it in subsequent pregnancies and a 50% higher chance of developing Type 2 diabetes when I'm older. BUT, I don't plan on any of those happening because I'm going to be a rock star exerciser and healthy eater (ha---we'll see).

so farewell to my sugary binges...for a little while.

  1. You poor thing!! I think I would cry a little if I couldn't eat sugar for 54 days. Or even 4 days for that matter. Good luck, you can do it.

  2. I'm so sorry Emily. That really stinks. I tried for just one week and I about lost it...I can't imagine 54 days. I'm sure you have posted, but it's been a while since I've read your blog...when are you due? And CONGRATS!

  3. Sad! Hopefully your baby comes early because all I wanted when I was pregnant was sugar. Good luck!!

  6. What a bummer. I had gestational diabetes for the last six weeks with Lucy too. I hated the four-times-a-day finger poking, and I hated having to be so careful about what I ate. It was avoiding the bread and pasta that killed me. Oh well - healthy baby in the end - totally worth it.

Good luck! You can do it!
